Submission Preparation Checklist

As part of the submission process, authors are required to check off their submission's compliance with all of the following items, and submissions may be returned to authors that do not adhere to these guidelines.

Author Guidelines

Submission of an article

Paper proposals may be submitted only through our online system. There are no deadlines or calls for papers - proposals may be submitted continuously.

General principles of adoption and publishing of articles in Scientific Journal of Gdynia Maritime University

  1. Articles are published in English.
  2. Articles can be prepared in Polish or English language.
  3. Authors interested in publishing an article in the Scientific Journal are obliged to prepare the article in accordance with editorial requirements and providing the anonymity of the author of article being evaluated.  The review of an article takes place through the so-called "double-blind review process".
  4. The number of pages of the article in B-5 format should not be less than 10 and not more than 15 pages.
  5. Non-compliant articles will be rejected.
  6. If an article has multiple authors, the Author who makes a new submission indicates who is a corresponding author. The corresponding author will be responsible for all correspondence with the Publisher and approves the final version of the paper on behalf of the others.
  7. During the article submission process, the Corresponding Author will be required to confirm his and co-authors' agreement to abide by the terms of the copyright statement, which is referenced below (Copyright Notice / Manuscript Copyright and Declaration Statement).
  8. The publication of articles is free of charge.

 

Privacy Statement

The administrator of your personal data is the Gdynia Maritime University (Gdynia, Morska Street 81-87). The administrator has appointed a Data Protection Inspector (email: iod@umg.edu.pl).

Your personal data is processed based on Article 6(1)(c) and (e) of Regulation (EU) 2016/679 of the European Parliament and of the Council of 27 April 2016 on the protection of natural persons with regard to the processing of personal data and on the free movement of such data, and repealing Directive 95/46/EC (GDPR).

Your personal data is used solely for the purpose of publishing/reviewing the article, antiplagiarism detection and receiving notifications about updates on the journal's website.

The provision of personal data is voluntary but necessary for submitting/reviewing the article and receiving notifications about updates on the journal's website.

Access to your personal data will be limited to employees involved in the publishing process and managing the journal’s website, authorized by the University.

Your personal data will not be processed in an automated manner, and will not be subject to profiling.

The data will be stored until the consent is withdrawn, and after this period, until any claims, including those related to protection against plagiarism, are time-barred.

You have the right to access your personal data, the right to rectify, delete, restrict processing, or object to the processing of your data.

You have the right to lodge a complaint with the President of the Office for Personal Data Protection whenever if the processing of your personal data violates applicable legal regulations.
